The Baroque Era
(1600-1700)
The Baroque period of art is often thought of as a time of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, and music. The style began around 1600 in Rome, Italy and spread to most of Europe. Famous artists during the Baroque period did a fantastic job at painting people realistically. (In other words, they were awesome at making their art look REAL!)
Rembrandt
(1606-1669)
