Fourth grade have spent 4 weeks studying fiber art and 3-dimensional form. Students investigated the different types of fiber art, learned different stitches, and explored the lives of several fiber artists.

After learning new information about Pop Art, students created several textured mono prints with Gelli plates. Next week students will create a Pop Art painting with their prints.

Fourth graders applied what they learned about lines from the previous week and created awesome 3D sculptures. We also discussed form in art and compared two-dimensional and three-dimensional art.

Week 2
Fourth graders are digging deep into the Elements of Art. They are comparing and analyzing different types of art and concluding what elements other artists have used in their artwork. This week students used the elements line, shape, and color to design their name on the front of their sketchbooks.

Fourth grade students had a deep discussion by answering the question "What is Art?"
Students discussed with each other and wrote what they thought. They then got their sketchbooks and created a self-portrait with pencils and crayons.
